Michigan Big Blue Bike Auction

Dear Michigan Fans,

On Saturday, January 10th, you will have a chance to bid on the “Big Blue Bike” as it is auctioned off at the 18th Annual Antique and Special Interest Motorcycle Auction in Las Vegas. Custom built by Orange County Chopper, the “Big Blue Bike” is the ultimate Michigan motorcycle for those who bleed Maize and Blue. The one-of-a-kind bike was built over two episodes of the Orange Country Chopper series on the Discovery Chanel and is a T-Rex Rigid, right-side drive, 6-up, 5-out chopper with a 40 degree rake.

The auction is accessible from around the world over the internet, via the phone, or in person. The proceeds from the bike auction will benefit the University of Michigan Solar Car Team and the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital.

The solar car team is the biggest student run organization on the campus of the University of Michigan. Each project cycle spans two years and brings together more than two hundred students from every corner of the University. The students work together to design, build, finance, and race the car across North America and the Australian outback. The project gives students an unparalleled real-world experience of leadership and teamwork in a corporate-like environment. (www.umsolar.com)

Mott’s hospital is nationally ranked in seven pediatric specialty areas while also offering the mental, emotional and spiritual care children need. Mott’s is recognized as a hospital that takes the whole patient into mind, keeping all emotional and physical needs as a top priority. (http://www.med.umich.edu/mott/)

The “Big Blue Bike” is just one of many motorcycles available at the auction. Enclosed you will find the “Big One,” a catalog featuring the “Big Blue Bike” plus 64 pages of other motorcycles. Please consider placing a bid on the bike to benefit both the Mott’s hospital and the Solar Car Team.
